Your Data Rights

How to see, correct, disconnect, and delete the information InTheBlk holds about you.

01

What You Can Ask For

  • Access: a copy of the personal and financial information InTheBlk holds about you.
  • Correction: fixing information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Deletion of financial data: removal of imported bank data while keeping your InTheBlk account.
  • Account deletion: removal of your InTheBlk account together with its financial data.
  • Disconnection: revoking InTheBlk's access to a linked financial institution.
02

Do It Yourself in the App

Signed-in users can act immediately from Profile › Privacy & Data in the InTheBlk app. For your protection, deletion asks you to sign in again first, including your text-message code if two-step verification is on.

  • Disconnect this bank — revokes InTheBlk's access at our bank-data provider, Plaid, and deletes the stored access credential. Transaction history already imported stays until you delete it.
  • Delete financial data — revokes every connected bank and deletes linked accounts, balances, transactions, categorisation decisions, rules, the tax workspace, and statements stored on your device. Your account remains so you can start again.
  • Delete account — does all of the above, then deletes your InTheBlk account and sign-in. This cannot be undone.
03

Signing Out Is Not Deleting

Signing out ends the session on that device. It does not delete anything, on our servers or on the device.

04

Requests by Message

For access or correction, or if you cannot use the app, send a request through our support page. We only need the email address on your InTheBlk account, the type of request, and any notes. Never send bank passwords, full account or routing numbers, Social Security numbers, or transaction details.

We will confirm the request comes from the account holder before acting on it, and respond within 30 days.

Send a request from the Support page.

05

What Remains After Deletion

After financial-data deletion, InTheBlk keeps your account profile and a security log that records event types and counts, not financial records. After account deletion, a minimal record that a deletion took place is kept without your name, email, or financial information, for security and compliance evidence.

Information held by Plaid or by your financial institution is governed by their own policies; disconnecting or deleting in InTheBlk revokes InTheBlk's access through Plaid.
